Historical origin
The tea began in the Qing Dynasty, dating back nearly 200 years ago.
狗牯脑茶始于清代,距今已近200年历史。
In the fourth year of the Republic of China (1915), Li Yushan, a tea merchant in Suichuan County, made fresh tea leaves into silver needle, sparrow tongue and beads into three cans to San Francisco for the Panama International Expo. He won the gold award and award awarded by the International Evaluation Committee, and was known as "green tea on top".
民国四年(1915年),遂川县茶商李玉山采用狗牯脑山的茶鲜叶,制成银针、雀舌和圆珠各1千克,分装3罐,运往美国旧金山参加巴拿马国际博览会,荣获国际评判委员会授予的金质奖和奖状,被誉为“顶上绿茶”。

民国十九年(1930年),李玉山之孙李文龙将此茶改名为“玉山茶”,送往浙赣特产联合展览会展出,荣获甲等奖。由于两次获奖,狗牯脑所产之茶名声大震。随着历史的变迁,“玉山茶”改名为“狗牯脑茶”。
Characteristics
Dogao Tea, also known as Dogao Stone Mountain Tea, was once called Jade Mountain tea. It was produced in Dogao Mountain in Tanghu Town, Suichuan, Jiangxi Province.
狗牯脑茶又名狗牯脑石山茶,也曾一度称其为玉山茶,产于江西遂川汤湖镇的狗牯脑山,该山形似狗,取名“狗牯脑”。
