冠词的应用。

冠词对逻辑梳理有举足轻重的作用。

大致规律

一、不加定冠词

1. 复数前面一般不加定冠词，除非后面跟定语从句进行限定。

例：

1）You accept that overweight and obesity are  \  forms of malnutrition as well.

2）Its  that it might be easier to make the changesrequired to fixthe problemscreated by industrial agriculture than those created by inequality. 

二、 要加定冠词

1. 明确特质对象

例：

……debunking the idea that we need to grow more food on  a large scale so we can "feed the nine billion" -- the anticipated global population by 2050.

2. “of”前的单数名词，固定词组除外 （复数一般不加）要加定冠词，部分加不定冠词（视上下文而定）

例:

1) Since the start of the recession, the number of Americans who have moved each year has fallen sharply for a host of reasons……

2) …… according to an analysis of metro areas by Redfin ……

3) You accept that overweight and obesity are  \  forms of malnutrition as well.

3. 定语从句的先行词前一般要加定冠词

例：

There is also the virtually unregulated food system that is geared toward making money rather than feeding people.

三、要加不定冠词 a, an

1. 同位语进行解释说明

2. 单数名词前有形容词

on, in, as 

● ON 连接大会、协议、合同、条约、法律等内容：

eg. Conference on Disarmament;

Agreement on Rules of Origin;

Sharia Law on Divorce;

●IN  某方面上升、下降、增加、减少：

rise in the elderly population;

a spike in investment activity;

an increase in cost of living;

a drop in unemployment;

……

●AS 作为连词引导事件背景，“随着……”，“在……的背景下”，逻辑上属于讲主句的原因：

As population ages, ……
